Morningstar Training

Dear Client: As the Thanksgiving holiday draws near, on behalf of Morningstar Library Services, I would like to thank you for being a client of ours. We appreciate the opportunity to serve you and your patrons. I would also like to remind you that next Tuesday, December 2nd is the first Tuesday of the month, which means there is a free training session for anyone who would like to attend. The session will begin at 3pm Central Time. The link to the meeting is posted on the Client Site under the calendar. When you click on the database training link you will be directed to the login screen. Simply click the JOIN button. The audio portion can be accessed by dialing the toll-free number and entering the conference code when prompted. EBSCOhost Update

In response to feedback from our customers, we have added several enhancements to the recently redesigned EBSCOhost interface. Below is a summary of the new features now available:
A new Image Quick View limiter replaces the Articles With Images limiter
The Image Quick View limiter includes multiple sort options by image type. Can I limit my EBSCOhost search results to articles that have Image Quick View available? ( http://support.epnet.com/knowledge_base/detail.php?id=4207) Can I set the Image Quick View limiter to display under Limit your results on the EBSCOhost Result List screen? Ancient and Medieval History Online Update

OverviewCheck out the abundance of new content in Ancie nt and Medieval History Online. We have added more than 1,200 new entries, many new images and maps, and 45 new primary sources that cover world history from the prehistoric eras to the medieval world. The new content adds depth and breadth to this already outstanding database, makin g it the ideal resource for the study of all aspects of ancient and medieval life, including agriculture, science and technology, social and class relationships, trade and cultural exchanges, warfare, and more. New Maps and ImagesWe have added new images in color and black and white, as well as new maps depicting such subjects as the expanding Islamic world, the origins of agriculture, and the rise and conquests of the Roman emperor Constantine the Great. These records support written accounts of history, helping convey the importance of geography in world history.

NOVELny Webinars

The New York State Library is pleased to announce that online training sessions ("webinars") for databases included in the NOVELny pilot project will be offered at no charge to all types of libraries. These sessions, which will last approximately one hour, will be conducted by trainers from the two NOVELny database vendors, Cengage-Gale and EBSCO Publishing.
